Big Boy reference · Eight survivors
Where Are the Eight Surviving Big Boys?
ALCO Schenectady built 25 Union Pacific Big Boys between 1941 and 1944 — the largest successful steam locomotives ever produced. Eight survived the scrappers. Only one of those (4014) runs under steam today. Here's where you can see the other seven.
