The Fall Foliage Howard Tunnel Special runs from New Freedom through the historic Howard Tunnel on the Northern Central Railway in southern Pennsylvania. Steam engine No. 17 hauls the consist into the tunnel — one of the oldest active rail tunnels in the United States — at peak fall color. A short, distinctive run with a heavy preservation pedigree.
