About Eisenhower Presidential Library, Museum & Boyhood Home
The Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library, Museum and Boyhood Home is the most substantial all-weather history stop within walking distance of the train depot. The federal campus interprets Eisenhower’s Abilene upbringing, military career, presidency, and broader twentieth-century history.
Museum admission can be purchased online or onsite, while the limited-capacity Boyhood Home tour is sold only onsite. The library exhibits, campus grounds, and Place of Meditation do not require a ticket, allowing a shorter visit when a train schedule leaves too little time for the full museum.
The National Archives recommends at least 90 minutes for the museum experience. A combined museum and home visit requires more margin because home tours are limited to ten guests and can sell out during busy periods.
