Hotchkiss-Fyler House Museum is the guided historic-house component of the independent Torrington Historical Society at 192 Main Street. Orsamus and Mary Fyler commissioned the Queen Anne residence in 1897; New Haven architect William Allen designed it, the Hotchkiss Brothers Company built it, and the family occupied it after completion in 1900.

Gertrude Fyler Hotchkiss bequeathed the property to the Society in 1956 with its original furnishings and decorative fabric. Guided visits interpret woodwork, stenciled walls, murals, family rooms, and the household that maintained the property. The building is not just a period-styled reconstruction; it is the family's surviving home and collection.

The campus adds two independent local-history layers.
