About Indian Echo Caverns
Indian Echo Caverns is a commercial show cave cut through Beekmantown limestone near Swatara Creek. Guided groups descend through a series of passages and formation-filled chambers while an interpreter explains the geology and site history.
The cave tour is the main attraction and lasts about 45 minutes, with roughly an hour from group formation to return. The route includes stairs and narrow passages, stays 52 degrees year-round, and is not wheelchair or stroller accessible.
Echo Dell also operates a gift shop, free picnic and playground areas, a small animal area, and seasonal gem mining. Those above-ground activities have their own operating conditions; visitors should not assume every feature follows the cave schedule.
