Letchworth State Park follows a long section of the Genesee River gorge, where three major waterfalls drop between forested cliffs. The park publishes 66 miles of hiking trails plus overlooks, a nature center, a seasonal museum, lodging and camping. Its scale is the attraction and the main planning challenge.

From Arcade, the closest useful southern approach is roughly twenty-two driving miles, but the exact entrance matters. Portageville leads toward Upper and Middle Falls and the Genesee Arch Bridge; Castile is useful for the Visitor Center, Lower Falls and Humphrey Nature Center. The north entrances are much farther from those headline sights.

The park is open year-round from 6 a.m.–11 p.m. A $10 per-vehicle fee is scheduled daily from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. through October 18, 2026. Because the A&A regular experience lasts about 2 hours 20 minutes, pair Letchworth only when you have a genuine half-day and have chosen two or three targets in advance.
