About MCA Denver

MCA Denver is an independent nonprofit museum devoted to contemporary art. It presents changing exhibitions and public programs rather than treating one permanent collection as the whole visit.

The museum was founded in 1996 and opened its permanent downtown home in 2007. The 27,000-square-foot Fries Building was designed by David Adjaye as his first museum commission in the United States.

Because exhibitions rotate, the current exhibition page is essential planning. As checked in August 2026, Colorado Currents is on view through November 1, 2026, but galleries may close between installations.

The rooftop café and terrace add city and mountain views, but café service is currently Friday through Sunday and requires museum admission.
