About Mendon Ponds Park

Mendon Ponds Park is Monroe County’s largest park, spanning roughly 2,500 acres of woodland, ponds, wetlands and glacial landforms. The county identifies about 30 miles of self-guided trails and a 550-acre nature preserve.

The park is open daily, but individual facilities and activities have different rules. The car-top non-motorized boat launch is seasonal from May 1 through October 31, restrooms depend on location, and visitors must carry out their trash.

Bird Song and Swamp trails prohibit pets, horses and cross-country skiing because of their proximity to Wild Wings. Elsewhere, pets must be leashed and owners must clean up. Download the current park and trail maps instead of relying on a generic map pin.
