About U.S. Space & Rocket Center
The U.S. Space & Rocket Center is the region’s largest transportation-history extension to a North Alabama Railroad Museum visit. It is a Smithsonian Affiliate and the official visitor center for NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, presenting the launch vehicles, spacecraft, propulsion systems, people, and engineering associated with Huntsville’s role in spaceflight. Current general-admission areas include Saturn V Hall, Moon Crater, Rocket Park, Shuttle Park, Military Park, Spark!Lab, and ISS: Science on Orbit, subject to exhibit and maintenance changes.
This is a real half-day destination, not a quick photo stop at an outdoor rocket. The collection includes an authentic Saturn V displayed horizontally in the Davidson Center, Apollo hardware, the Pathfinder shuttle stack, engines, test articles, and interactive science areas. Simulators and separately scheduled experiences can have additional tickets, age or size rules, weather limits, and temporary closures; general admission never guarantees every add-on.

Allow two to four hours at the museum plus the complete driving and railroad check-in buffer. The Center is also close to Huntsville Botanical Garden, making those two easier to pair with each other than to squeeze around a departure.

- Current hoursThe official admission page says the museum returns to 9 a.m.–5 p.m. beginning March 1. It closes Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. Recheck the selected date.
