About Western Antique Aeroplane & Automobile Museum
WAAAM displays antique aircraft, automobiles, motorcycles and related transportation artifacts in more than 100,000 square feet of museum space. Its collection reflects founder Terry Brandt's effort to preserve operating and restorable machinery.
The founder selected and donated the initial collection in 2006, and the museum opened September 7, 2007. Later expansions increased display space, but dated photographs cannot establish today's object placement or aisle conditions.
The museum is open daily from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and closes Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Current 2026 admission tiers differ by age and status, so use the official rates page.
AccessibleGorge provides a useful access profile dated April 12, 2023. Treat every entrance, route, restroom, seating and parking detail as dated guidance to reconfirm, and do not infer a service-animal policy.

Why it belongs in a Mount Hood Railroad trip
WAAAM ranks first about 3.8 road miles and roughly 10 minutes from the depot. It is large enough for a separate visit, so leave a substantial buffer around railroad check-in and do not assume a quick gallery stop.
