About Armand Bayou Nature Center
Armand Bayou Nature Center protects more than 4,300 acres representing forest, prairie, marsh and bayou ecosystems. Five miles of trails, the Discovery Loop boardwalk and a bison-viewing platform make it a substantive outdoor destination rather than a quick roadside stop.
The live visitor page lists Wednesday-Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday noon-5 p.m., with last entry at 4 p.m. It is closed Monday and Tuesday, while a separately listed Labor Day opening runs 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Do not generalize that one holiday exception to other holidays.
Current admission is free for ages three and under, $5 for ages 4-12, $7 for ages 13-59 and $5 for ages 60 and above. College students, teachers, active-duty military and first responders pay $5 with ID. Parking is free and ample, but visitors should bring water because none is sold onsite.
Pets are prohibited; ADA service animals are allowed and emotional-support animals are not. Picnicking, jogging, biking, feeding or collecting wildlife, glass, alcohol, smoking and fires are prohibited. Elevated walkways, open water and natural hazards require weather-aware planning. No complete current wheelchair-route or restroom inventory is published, so contact the center for a specific need.

Why it belongs in a C.P. Huntington Train at Kemah Boardwalk trip
Armand Bayou ranks first as the closest complementary stop and provides a quiet nature-based contrast to Kemah Boardwalk. Budget about 12 minutes for the drive, respect the 4 p.m. last-entry cutoff and choose a route that fits heat, weather and mobility needs.
