About Riverfront Park Spokane

Riverfront Park occupies downtown Spokane land along the Spokane River and upper Spokane Falls. The public park is open daily from 6 a.m. to midnight and is distinct from the Inland Northwest Rail Museum and its Reardan Rocket.

The park's rail connection is visible in the surviving Great Northern depot clock tower and in the landscape's transition from railroad and industrial property to the Expo '74 site and present public park.

Walking the park itself does not require a Riverfront attraction ticket. Paid experiences, including the Looff Carrousel, publish their own prices and rules and may have schedules narrower than the park's daily access window.

The City lists several paid parking lots. Its current parking page says the Post Lot is closed from July 13 through September 2026, so visitors should choose another current option and expect event rates to differ from ordinary daily pricing.

What stands out

Read the rail landscape

Use the Great Northern clock tower to connect downtown Spokane's former railroad infrastructure with today's park.

Walk the Spokane River

Build the stop around public paths, islands and views rather than assuming a paid attraction will be open.

Choose the Looff Carrousel

Add the 1909 hand-carved ride only after checking its live schedule, tax-inclusive total and rider rules.

Plan parking before arrival

Use the current city lot page because event rates and the temporary Post Lot closure materially affect the visit.

Pair it with the train

Why it belongs in an Inland Northwest Rail Museum trip

An OpenStreetMap road route measured about 42,144 meters, or 26.2 miles and roughly 45 minutes, from the museum address to Riverfront Park on August 21, 2026. This is a separate road stop in downtown Spokane, not part of the museum route or admission.
