The current excursion pages identify McCloud River Railroad steam locomotive No. 25 as the planned summer engine and publish a weekend-by-weekend steam/diesel split for Fall Splendor: steam October 2-November 1 and diesel November 6-15. OCSR nevertheless reserves motive-power substitution for mechanical or operational reasons. Licensed historical photographs document No. 25, GP9 No. 101, open-air passenger car 0200 and the Skookum restoration. They establish operator identity and preservation context, not current serviceability or assignment. Current seating descriptions distinguish enclosed coach and table cars from covered-open and open-top cars; the exact consist and accessible boarding route must be verified for the chosen product.

OCSR describes itself as both a heritage railroad museum and an operating interpreted train ride. Its mission is to educate about, preserve and restore Pacific Northwest logging-railroad history while using Tillamook County's historic railroad infrastructure to explain local history, wildlife and environmental conservation. Does the coastal ticket include a return trip?

Do not treat it as guaranteed. OCSR publishes planned steam use and a fall steam/diesel split but reserves the right to substitute motive power for mechanical or operational reasons.
