Tri-Cities Historical Museum

The Tri-Cities Historical Museum invites visitors into the local history of Northwest Ottawa County — the Ferrysburg, Grand Haven, and Spring Lake communities known as the Tri-Cities. Its rail-heritage credentials come from its building: Grand Haven was served by the Grand Trunk Railway, which ran along the waterfront near the Grand River, and the railway's depot and offices were adapted for use as the historical museum. The story told inside is that of a town founded by fur traders and a pioneering minister, incorporated in 1867, that grew through the mid-to-late nineteenth century as a logging, lumber-mill, and shipping center — and a shipbuilding one — at the mouth of the Grand River on Lake Michigan's eastern shore.
