The Trains
The park's centerpiece is the last extant 0-10-2 'Union' type steam locomotive — the only survivor of its wheel arrangement anywhere — displayed alongside other pieces of railroad equipment.
History
See full history
The Greenville Railroad Park and Museum is one of three museums in Greenville, a borough on the Shenango River in northwestern Mercer County, Pennsylvania, and it speaks directly to the town's industrial roots: Greenville's manufacturing era included railroad shops and a railroad-car manufacturer among its bridge works, foundries, machine shops, and steelworks. The park and museum preserve railroad equipment for the community, headlined by the last surviving example of the 0-10-2 'Union' type steam locomotive, and the town gathers each year for Heritage Days on the first weekend of July, with fireworks, historical reenactments, and the area's largest free car show.
