About Santa Susana Depot
Inside the restored 1903 Santa Susana Depot, a compact railroad museum occupies the historic two‑story combination building relocated two miles east of its original Tapo Street site. The venue showcases a detailed HO‑scale model of the Coast Route from Los Angeles to Portland, styled for the early 1950s, and displays regional railroad artifacts, historic photographs, and items from the nearby Corriganville Movie Ranch. Open Saturdays and Sundays, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

History
See full history
Santa Susana Depot opens in 1903 as a Southern Pacific passenger, telegraph and freight station serving the Rancho Simi community. Declining passenger use and freight changes lead Southern Pacific to close the depot in the early 1970s, after which the building sits vacant and suffers vandalism and arson damage. Ventura County purchases the structure from the railroad for $1.06 and, in May 1975, has the depot cut into three sections and truck‑relocated two miles east of its original site. The county designates the building Landmark #29 in January 1976. A nonprofit historic society restores the depot and opens it as a railroad museum in 2000, providing public access on weekends.
