The National Toy Train Museum opens its doors in 1977 as a toy museum in Pennsylvania. From its inception, the museum is owned and operated by the Train Collectors Association, which also uses the building as its headquarters. Its mission, established at founding, is to promote train collecting and preserve the heritage of toy trains. The museum remains open for most of the year, charging an admission fee while offering free entry to TCA members.
