About Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum
Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum is a volunteer-run nonprofit museum at the former North Judson junction of the Chesapeake & Ohio, Erie, New York Central, and Pennsylvania railroads. The campus preserves more than 50 pieces of rolling stock and operates seasonal 45-minute countryside excursions. Museum hours and train inventory are separate: the museum opens Saturdays May through September, while only dates shown in the live booking calendar should be treated as ride dates.

Regular excursions use historic diesel power with open-air and coach seating; first-class inventory may use Norfolk & Western car No. 300. Steam excursion copy identifies restored 1908 Forney-type Bock Lumber Company No. 1, but its live calendar has no remaining 2026 availability, so this guide does not present steam as currently bookable. Collection status alone never proves assignment.
History
Rail development made North Judson a junction of four major systems.
The museum effort began around preservation of C&O No. 2789.

The museum effort began in 1988 around preservation of Chesapeake & Ohio steam locomotive No. 2789. Volunteers expanded the backshop beginning in 1994-95 and again in 2004 and 2008. North Judson once handled as many as 125 trains a day at the crossing of four major railroads. After CSX abandoned the former C&O corridor in 2004, a surviving segment was preserved for museum excursions and freight operation.
